Thank you all for an amazing final INW Slopestyle and Rail Jam in Big Sky this past weekend!

Nationals is right around the corner, and I wanted to direct everyone to the Rider's Guide at

to learn about the steps to get to Nationals this year. If you are planning on attending this year, I recommend spending some time on this site. More communication from the National office will be headed your way, but this is a great resource. There are couple of the areas that I want to draw your attention to:

Why we no longer post Nationals field sizes/caps.

In past seasons, USASA posted estimated field sizes (caps) for each age group and discipline partway through the year. Those estimates were based on incomplete results—often before a large portion of events were finished—so the “cap” could change meaningfully once the full competitive season played out.

This season, we are not posting caps in advance. Instead, we will finalize competition group sizes after the season concludes and results are official, using our Nationals waitlist to understand the true size and strength of each competitive pool. Our goal is to accommodate as many athletes as possible while still maintaining the most competitive and meaningful Nationals experience for every age group and discipline.

How Nationals registration works this year

All competitors who wish to compete at the 2026 USASA National Championships should join the Nationals waitlist, which will be live from 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 11, 2026 through midnight (MDT) Monday, March 16, 2026.
If you miss this 5-day window, you may not be able to compete at the 2026 National Championships.

Join the waitlist for each discipline you intend to compete in.

By joining the waitlist, you are indicating your intent to compete if you qualify for an open spot. Do not join the waitlist if you do not intend to pay to participate in the National Championship event.

■ Event entries are not refundable under any circumstance.

You will only be charged if/when your entry is confirmed and you are placed into the event. The confirmation process begins Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Regional Champions are confirmed first, and the remainder of the field is filled via National Rankings. You will receive an email notification when the entry is confirmed and payment is processed.
